Legible Documentation
Legible turns a folder of Markdown notes (an Obsidian vault, a Joplin export,
or any pile of .md files) into a calm, typographically considered reading
experience on your Mac.
These docs are themselves rendered by Legible's own engine, so what you see here is exactly how your notes will look.
Start here
- Getting Started: install, point Legible at your vault, and activate your license.
- Reading & Navigation: search, wikilinks, backlinks, themes, zen mode, reading filters, and more.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: every key for moving, reading, and searching without the mouse.
- Markdown Support: the Obsidian-flavoured Markdown Legible renders.
- Licensing & Updates: trials, device limits, and automatic updates.
- Troubleshooting: fixes for the things that occasionally go sideways.
What Legible is for
Reading. Not editing, not syncing, not publishing. Legible stays out of the way so the writing is the only thing on screen, with proper measure, real typography, and a dark mode that was designed rather than inverted.
